Vastu expert, Mr. Ravindra Dadheech, says that the indoor plants in the office play an important role because they provide energy in the office premises. There are some indoor plants for wealth and positivity that you must plant in your office.

From the beginning of civilization plants have been of great importance as they not only provide with oxygen but also with clean air by filtering the impurities. In Vastu shastra some plants are known as Bhagya ‘Fortune’ booster, as keeping them in offices helps in gaining prosperity in one’s life.

In reference to the tradition of ancient India, plants and trees are associated with religion in depth. Planting a tree is said to be as fruitful to a person as a donation for 1,000 cows. In Indian culture it is unforgivable to cut a fruit bearing tree or a green tree. So you understand the importance of plants in your life and how it is important in all parts of your life and how it is impossible to imagine our lives without them.

According to vastu shastra, there are some plants that all of us must plant in our offices so that a good office lifestyle can be achieved and also the environment around can be detoxified. It is as important to choose the right plant for your office as it is to choose the right location for your plant for the office to prosper according to vastu. If you do not follow the principles of vastu shastra and keep them in the wrong direction then it can bring bad luck for your office and it can also affect the environment of the office. This is why it is important to follow the rules of vastu with special attention before planting an indoor plant in the office.

• Anthurium plant- If you are planning to plant the Anthurium plant in your office then you should plant it in the South-East direction, this will bring auspicious fruit and the results from this plant will be good.

• Asparagus Fern- Place this plant in the middle of the West-North direction in the office.

• Boston Fern- Boston fern plant is planted in the office so that it can attract fortune, prosperity, and luck. And if you are working in the field of your expertise then this plant can open doors of fate for you. According to vastu, this plant should be planted in the North-West side of the office.

• Algerian Ivy- This is a strong, shade loving plant that makes a reliable and attractive ground cover. It requires low maintenance and adapts to diverse climate and soil conditions. Algerian Ivy should be planted in the north side of the office.

• Snake Plant- However, you can keep the snake plant anywhere in the office but if you want to go according to vastu then the best places to keep your snake plant in the office are in the East, South, and/or the South east direction. You must keep in mind to avoid keeping it on top of any table or similar elevated surfaces and it should also not be surrounded by any other indoor plant.

• Elephant Ears Plant- The leaves in this plant appears similar to the ears of an elephant and that is where it gets its name from. This plant should be kept in the East direction of the office.

• Giant White Bird of Paradise plant- The Bird of Paradise plant is said to be the queen of indoor plants. This is a big, straight, plant that is kept in your office to make it prosper. This plant is kept in the South direction of the office.

• Calathea- If you like the beautiful leaves of calathea then you must keep it in your office because this plant is also known as the plant of prayer. Because at night the leaves of this plant turn towards each other as if they are praying by joining their hands. According to Vastu, this plant works wonderfully in the office. This plant grows more if kept in a place where there is half sun and half shade, thus this plant should be placed in a place where there is both the sun and shadow. If kept in the North-East direction then it helps in the growth of the office.

• Areca palm plant- According to Vastu, the areca palm plant should be kept in the North direction. The areca palm plant filters the fine pollutants from air. It is also an effective humidifier. It makes the office more attractive. This is like the cherry on top of the cake for your interior decorations at your office. The North and the North-West are considered the main location for the plant.

• Fiddle leaf fig- This plant is considered a symbol of fertility and good looks. Nowadays if you run an IVF hospital it is necessary that you plant this in the hospital because it improves the fertility in females and helps in growth in the opinion of vastu shastra. The plant vastu science says this plant helps in generating kindness and also sense unity among the employees in the office.

• Swiss Cheese plant- The leaves of this plant spread like a hand and it looks like that of a monster but its flower is considered to be auspicious. Keeping this plant in the office brings good news and growth in the future. The Swiss cheese plant should be kept in the West or the South direction.

• Peace Lily plant- The Peace lily plant does not only help with keeping the air fresh in the office but also keeps the negative energy away from the office. Because this plant attracts good vibes and that is why it is also good for emotional well-being. The peace lily plant can be kept anywhere in the office but the North-East side gives the best results.

• You should plant the Dragon tree on the East side of the office

• Chinese Water Bamboo- According to the principles of Vastu, this bamboo must be kept in the East or the North East corner of the office.

• Money plant/Pothos plant- According to various vastu experts, money plants should be kept on the South-East corner of the room so that fortune and prosperity can be attracted. Because this direction is ruled by Shukr Grah(Venus) and Lord Ganesha who are the symbols of wealth and luck. • String of Pearl plants- By keeping this plant in the office there can be a lot of benefits but this plant encourages an environment that keeps healthy. Plants like tulsi, Lotus and orchid not only purify the air in the office but are also vastu-friendly. The string pearl also lies in this category of plants, it appears as a necklace made with pearls. This should be planted in the North side.

• ZZ plant- According to vastu, the ZZ plant is kept in the West direction. And it is also advisable that you not keep indoor plants that are dying because it may affect the positivity. The ZZ plant brings fortune and is also lucky for people. Placing it in the West direction will help in good results.

• Oxalis plant- Oxalis plants are known for their diverse colours and different shapes. This plant should be kept in the South East side of the office.

• Chinese Money Plant- You can easily find money plants in most houses. But not everybody is aware of its direction. And if someone in the office keeps it in the wrong place instead of the right direction then you will have to see its bad results. Which is why according to the direction of vastu shastra and rules of plants the chinese money plant should be planted in the north direction.

Why are indoor plants necessary for offices?

Plants help in detoxifying the environment by absorbing carbon dioxide. Therefore, Vastu Shastra recommends that the plants in your office must be chosen with utmost care and placed in the right direction, to ensure that they continue to infuse positive energy among the employees and play a good role in wealth accumulation.

• According to vastu shastra keeping yellow coloured plants and flowers in the North-East direction is auspicious, this increases the positivity in the office environment.
• In the East side of the office plants pink and orange in colour should be kept. These plants are either pink or orange in appearance or the flowers growing on them are. Such plants must always be kept in the East direction. Planting a red plant in the Agni Kon(South-East) is auspicious.
• According to vastu shastra, it is the principle to use plants that are big in shape and size in the South-West direction.
• Planting blue and black plants in the South-West direction gives out good results.
• In the West direction such a plant should be selected that is not very bushy and not very tall either, medium height will do, and the plant should also bear flowers of different colours. Imported and hybrid plants can also be kept in this direction.
• In the North-West direction of the office it is a rule of vastu to keep white and bright flowers.
• The North direction should be used for fragrant plants like Champa and Jasmine. Keeping the Champa plant in the North direction can be found written in the vastu shastra.

Note: Milky and thorny plants must not be planted in the office because such plants are prohibited in the Vastu shastra.
